I have over 10 years of food safety experience in public and private sector.

Food safety journey started in Agriculture and Food Board in 2011, where I started working as a food safety surveillance officer. I did surveillance over food producers, wholesalers and importers.

After many years of exciting officer work, I started working in the same organisation as a chief specialist in retail sector. I no longer did the on-site surveillance work but I had to guide the retail officers and deal with the ups and downs in the sector.

In 2015 I tried the life on the “other side”, meaning I started working in the private sector as a R&D Local Deploy Senior Specialist in Unilever Baltic. My task was to make sure that all the products (food and non-food) that were sold on Baltic market were with EU compliant labelling.

In 2017 I was invited back to Agriculture and Food Board to become an e-commerce specialist. My task was to create the e-commerce surveillance system in Estonia for the first time, including inner procedures and guidelines for the FBOs.

In 2018 I left Estonia and moved to South of France. I became a project manager of Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) programme, which is a European Commission training initiative covering food and feed law, animal health and welfare, and plant health rules.

Addition to the project management, I also became an e-commerce tutor for the same BTSF programme. I have been tutoring in EU and also in China.
